Recycline is thrilled to be featured on Robert Redford’s The Green (television’s only regularly scheduled program devoted to environmental issues and awareness) on the Sundance Channel on Tuesday, June 19th at 9 PM. This segment will follow a Stonyfield Farms yogurt cup from recycling bin to Preserve® toothbrush to park bench, while explaining the manufacturing process and our mission.

Preserve Jr. Gone Wild!
Our Preserve Jr.® toothbrush is back from safari, and it’s made some new friends! We are excited to announce that our next endangered species series will feature the Galapagos Tortoise, Tiger, and St. Lucia Parrot. We are pleased to continue our partnership with the National Wildlife Federation in promoting biodiversity and awareness of animal populations in danger. Be sure to keep an eye out for our new wild friends this fall! |

We recently came across an excellent article in The Economist that offers a history of the recycling movement, a look at the impact and cost-effectiveness of recycling, the developing world’s reaction, and ways that societies can benefit by improving future recycling efforts. Take a look- it’ll definitely make you think about the products that you buy and the companies that you buy from. |

Wal-Mart Preserving the Earth?
If you haven’t heard, we’ve begun selling our Preserve® toothbrushes at Wal-Mart. This was a difficult decision for us- we could pressure Wal-Mart to improve its environmental practices by withholding product, or join the world’s largest retailer in helping to improve its environmental record. After a great deal of conversation with our stakeholders, we concluded that our mission of helping consumers preserve the Earth’s resources is better served by being in Wal-Mart. When a consumer purchases products made from recycled materials instead of those made with virgin materials, the impact is a net positive for the environment. It is estimated that greater than 30% of the toothbrushes sold in the United States are sold at Wal-Mart. Now the Preserve toothbrush will be sold alongside conventional plastic toothbrushes and consumers will have the chance to make a difference at the register.

Our Ears are Burning
In our last online survey, we asked you a slew of questions. As always, your experiences and opinions were enormously helpful. Among other things, we learned that 90% of you have recommended the Preserve® toothbrush to friends or family (Heck, why stop there? We say, tell the guy next to you on the subway!). You’ve told your friends that the Preserve® toothbrush is recycled and recyclable, cleans those pearly whites as well as or better than any other brush out there, and the Preserve® has a curvaceous and cool design. Rockin’. Thanks for helping us spread the word.
Three of those chatty survey respondents are also the winners of the drawing for the first edition Preserve recycled paper cutting board. Congratulations to Amelia, Bethanee and Sheryl! These cutting boards will roll out later this summer and then the rest of you will have your chance to add one to your kitchen.
